Community Policing

Community policing at its core aims to rebuild trust between neighborhoods and law enforcement. Officers works with communities — through collaboration and partnerships, restorative practices, transparency, and intentional interaction — to cultivate relationships and solve problems, through the investment of time and effort to see them thrive.

Current initiatives

  • Working with community organizations to repair police-community relations through collaboration on community-focused agendas.
  • Seek accountability and transparency with an aim to reimagine what policing (and police power) looks like.
  • Advocating for habitual community policing training opportunities for law enforcement officers across departments.
